FAQ
What can I expect?
Every image reflects the unique combination of the session, setting, and the people within it. Each session is relaxed and guided — I’ll help with posing while keeping things natural so your personality shines through. My goal is to make the experience fun, comfortable, and true to you. After your session, I’ll carefully select and hand-edit the best images, then upload them in sizes suitable for the web (under 1 MG) to an online gallery for you to view and download.
What is the process like?
Once you choose a session type and book your appointment, you’ll receive a brief questionnaire to help me prepare and tailor your session. Along with it, you’ll get the service contract and waiver to confirm the appointment. Payment is due on the session date.
After the shoot, you’ll receive 10–20 hand-edited images in your online gallery — typically 10 on average for shorter sessions and up to 20 for longer ones.
I saw your Groupon deal, do I have to buy a Groupon?
To get the discount on the session type advertised on Groupon you will need to purchase it. However, I do offer other non-Groupon specials on my website from time to time that you can enjoy, and do not require a Groupon purchase.
Do you have any recommended portrait locations?
Here is a short list of places in the twin cities area that are popular spots for portraits:
1. Arboretum Park
9400 Fernrbook Ln N, Maple Grove, MN
2. Arneson Acres Park
4711 W 70th Street, Edina, MN
3. Lyndale Peace Garden
4124 Roseway Rd, Minneapolis, MN
4. Harriet Alexander Nature Center,
2520 Dale St. N, Roseville, MN
5. Rotary Nature Preserve
4840 White Bear Pkwy, White Bear Lake, MN
6. St. Anthony Main, Minneapolis, MN
Can I reschedule or cancel?
I simply ask for 24 hours notice before cancelling or rescheduling the shoot, so that I can save myself the time and costs associated with traveling to on-location shoots.
When can we expect the images to be uploaded to the gallery?
Current turnaround time is approximately two weeks, subject to change.
Do I have to order prints?
Nope, totally your choice! Your gallery includes web-size images that are great for sharing online, though monitors vary so I can’t guarantee how they’ll appear on every screen. For prints, I can help you order through a professional lab on a system calibrated to my vendor.
What about location rentals or permits?
If your chosen location requires a rental or photography permit, it’s the client’s responsibility to secure and cover those fees. Any reservations or payments must be made directly by the client.
What do you recommend we wear?
For outfits, I recommend coordinating rather than matching exactly — neutrals, soft earth tones, or muted colors tend to photograph beautifully outdoors. Avoid bright neons or busy patterns, since they can draw attention away from faces. Layers and subtle textures (like knits or denim) also look great on camera, especially in fall.
